The Arion Singing Society was organized on July 4, 1896, as a non-profit organization that promotes German culture and activities in Central New York.
In the year 2000, the name was changed to the German-American Society of Central New York to reflect the diverse members of the Club: the Arion Steiners, the Enzian Bavarian Band & Dancers, the Syracuse Liederverein, the German War Veterans, and the Schlaraffia.
The main purpose of our organization is to promote German heritage and culture in the Central New York area.
We have social activities throughout the year to promote the camaraderie of club members, including an annual Oktoberfest celebration.
The German-American Society of Central New York meets at the Syracuse Turners, 619 North Salina Street, Syracuse, every third Thursday evening of the month.
Annual membership is $25 per person or $40 per couple.
